Bruegel supports a smart, common-sense regulatory approach that promotes growth while protecting neighborhoods. Criminal Justice / Public Safety Making Lubbock an even safer place to live begins with strong support for first responders. As a volunteer fireman, Bruegel understands firsthand the needs and challenges facing Lubbock's firefighters and police officers. Environment / Energy The central Lubbock park system is one of the community's greatest assets. Bruegel will support efforts to maintain safe walking trails, healthy trees, and vibrant parks that strengthen quality of life. Taxes / Budget Maintaining conservative budgeting practices is essential to prevent property tax increases. Bruegel is committed to responsible fiscal stewardship and ensuring taxpayer dollars are spent wisely. Environment / Energy Effective code enforcement is essential to community safety and neighborhood stability. Bruegel supports proactive efforts to remove junk vehicles, address overgrown properties, and resolve unsafe property conditions. Environment / Energy Lubbock's parks and streets should be safe places to walk, run, or ride a bike. Loose and dangerous dogs have become a significant issue, and Bruegel intends to make animal control a priority to protect residents and neighborhoods. Infrastructure / Transportation Central Lubbock has a strong, well-planned roadway network. Bruegel believes these roads must be diligently maintained to serve future generations and support continued growth.
