About Me

Milwaukee County Supervisor - District 18

Why I am Running

Raised in struggling middle-class circumstances by a car salesman father and a nurse mother, Deanna Alexander learned the value of hard work and perseverance from an early age. She had an incarcerated parent for many years and family members with drug addictions, giving her perspective and empathy. As an adoptive special needs foster parent, Deanna understands the importance of creating a better future for the next generation. Then as an accountant and devoted mother of four, she knows what it’s like to clip coupons while navigating complex systems to make budgets work. With a decade of service as Milwaukee County Supervisor, experience working as a Choice School auditor, and managing Wisconsin municipalities, Alexander brings a trifecta of experience to the race. In addition to her extensive background in public administration, she served in the military through the Wisconsin Army National Guard’s 57th FA BDE, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and Certificate in Conflict Resolution from UW-Parkside and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Regent University, equipping her well to help create solutions to complex government problems. Being conscious of taxpayer’s limited budgets while carrying compassion for those in need has resonated with Milwaukee’s voters, resulting in a perfect record of five consecutive election wins. She has transcended partisan divides, recognizing that true progress often lies beyond the constraints of rigid party politics and platitudes at podiums. Her pragmatic approach to governance has resonated across party lines, earning her widespread support from middle-class, hard-working people who prioritize effective, sensible government over partisan bickering. As an Independent, Deanna Alexander is guided by the principle of prioritizing people over politics. With her proven record of asking the right questions to reach better solutions and having a record of showing courage in the face of adversity, she is uniquely positioned to represent the diverse interests of her constituents and champion their voices in local government. “I am proud to continue standing up for Milwaukee County residents by running for reelection,” said Alexander. “I believe in putting people before politics and working sincerely to ensure that government serves the needs of all Milwaukeeans. Together, we can build a brighter future for our families and communities.”
