Top Issues

Housing Reduce regulatory barriers by streamlining zoning requirements and entitlement processes. Housing Modernize zoning codes to include clear, objective residential design and development standards. Housing Update land use policies in the General Plan to better align with housing goals and broader community priorities. Healthcare I will advance a treatment-led recovery approach that confronts mental illness and substance use disorder as key drivers of homelessness—because compassion without results is not enough, and recovery must be part of the solution. Housing Offer pre-approved, accessible dwelling unit plans and faster building permit processing. Housing I will listen directly to small business owners, tenants, and homeowners who are dealing with the impacts of crime, homelessness, and disinvestment. Housing Reevaluate and revise permitting fee structures to lower costs and encourage development of affordable housing. Criminal Justice / Public Safety As your councilmember, I will require quarterly updates on crime-reduction strategies, violence-prevention efforts, and the feasibility of neighborhood police substations. Criminal Justice / Public Safety Ensuring timely police and fire response times—and the protection our communities deserve—will be among my top priorities. Housing I will partner with nonprofit organizations that serve people experiencing homelessness, while insisting on transparency, measurable outcomes, and real accountability for every city dollar invested. Criminal Justice / Public Safety I will convene neighborhood associations to hear directly from residents about what they need to feel safe—because real solutions start with listening.
