Environment / Energy Encinitas’ stunning coastline, open space, and outdoor recreation opportunities all contribute to our amazing quality of life. As your City Councilmember, I commit to protecting sensitive environmental resources, restoring native plant populations, and promoting nature-based solutions for climate change adaptation. Taxes / Budget Evaluate and pursue grant opportunities to address gaps in adequate funding. Environment / Energy Ensure new development does not exacerbate existing stormwater issues and wildfire vulnerability. Environment / Energy Climate change impacts are no longer just distant concerns. Coastal erosion, flooding, and extreme storm events are already impacting Encinitas. We need to ensure our city continues to further actionable policies to address the climate crisis. As your Encinitas Councilmember, I will be a fierce advocate for climate action, enhancing beach access, and protecting our environment. Housing Evaluate opportunities to increase affordable housing while working to ensure we site development in appropriate places at a scale that is aligned with community character. Economy As a board member of Leucadia 101 Main Street Association and the Chair of the Economic Development Committee, I’ve led efforts to ensure the organization is proactive and responsive to local needs. I understand the unique challenges facing local businesses. I am committed to our city’s economic vitality and being responsive to the needs of our unique coastal economy. Taxes / Budget Work with the community to ensure local needs are addressed while ensuring the responsible use of financial resources. Infrastructure / Transportation Community concerns surrounding traffic congestion and collisions need to be addressed so we can achieve public safety, meet our climate action goals, and improve our quality of life. Housing Ensure we consider the needs of all residents, including seniors, teachers, and people across income levels. Infrastructure / Transportation As your Encinitas City Councilmember, I will work to champion road safety for all users and improve access to destinations within our community. I will advocate for safe routes to school, a citywide quiet zone, and safe rail crossings.
