Criminal Justice / Public Safety I believe the first priority of City government is to provide a safe community through adequately equipped and staffed police and fire departments. This priority is a big factor in the quality of life we enjoy in Yuma that includes other factors like parks and recreation facilities and activities, quality water and sewer systems, among many others. Taxes / Budget I believe the level of services the voters expect from the City government directly impacts the tax revenue needed to fund those programs. The current tax structure of the City is in balance and future budgets need to maintain low tax levels and continue to prevent tax increases. Economy I believe job creation can only be accomplished by the private sector, however the City can foster an environment encouraging job creation. Over the last 8 years, I have worked hard to create this environment.
