Education Consolidate the division’s preschool program. Education Create & adopt a budget that recognizes and supports the work and contributions of teachers and staff. Education Collaborate with community partners to provide real-world work experiences for students while in school. Education Continue the work of recruiting teachers and staff to employ a workforce reflective of the diversity of our student body and community. Education Pursue green certifications when renovating existing facilities or building new. Education Honor the collectively bargained contract with the Charlottesville Education Association. Education Continue to support the work being done at CATEC to allow students to graduate with a certificate to enter the workforce. Education Value the role support staff play in the division through collective bargaining. Education Continue the work to carry out the division’s plan for reconfigured middle grades. Education Consider brain-safe strategies in classroom design. Education Thoughtfully adopt policies that keep the division’s priorities as its focus and are not unnecessarily burdensome on teachers and staff. Education Strengthen partnerships with community colleges to increase the number of students taking dual enrollment classes and graduating from high school with an Associate’s Degree and/or ready to transfer credits to a 4-year college or university. Education Empower faculty to teach and rewrite curriculum that is diverse, antiracist, & inclusive and edit the Program of Studies as necessary. Education Expose students to the variety of options available to them both during their public school experience and after graduation. Education Continually review student performance to ensure that staffing and resources are directed towards eliminating the achievement gap.
