Environment / Energy Safe, beautiful, and accessible public land and water are Colorado’s treasures. Everyone who lives here has a right to clean air and water, regardless of your zip code. We need to ensure that we have clean air, clean water, and safe recreation for ourselves, our children, and future generations. Housing We, as Commissioners, have a strong role in protecting our housing stock and making sure the folks who work here can afford to live here. This includes smart policies on where density is located, such as near transit and major highways. Communities need thoughtful design that respects and enhances community amenities while taking into account traffic patterns, access to jobs, and schools, and water utilization. Housing people can afford is felt as an individual tries to balance their budget, so any housing plan needs to take the individual experience and community needs into account. Economy We need to build an Adams County economy that leaves no one out and no one behind. This means investing in an economy that enriches our community by creating quality jobs, with an emphasis on diverse industries. Supporting individuals to build their own dreams, small businesses, and careers. All the while ensuring that when you work hard, you have enough money to pay your bills.
