Taxes / Budget Councilmember Goettl will continue to lower our city taxes and eliminate or streamline the City’s “red tape” for local small businesses, making it less onerous to engage in the local free-market. Infrastructure / Transportation Every household in Maricopa is affected the SR 347. Whether it is our commute to work or our access to medical services, SR 347 is the lifeline to our community. The continued growth of our city will create greater pressure on this route. The solution to our growing SR 347 problem is varied and complex and it involves the partnership of State, Federal, Native American and local stakeholders. Councilmember Goettl will continue to push for real solutions to our crowded highway. But it is not just the north road in and out of town that concerns him. How we move in and around our city must also be addressed. Councilmember Goettl recognizes the importance of our local street and road improvements and new construction that will provide for future growth. Infrastructure improvement also includes water, power and data utilities which must be improved and secured for future expansion and for the next generation. Councilmember Goettl supports the work that Cox Communications, Global Water and ED3 and other vendors have done to bring more sustainable and reliable resources to our city. Criminal Justice / Public Safety Councilmember Goettl supports strategic growth and careful planning to ensure that resources are allocated appropriately. Our First Responders must have the training and tools to quickly respond to the various needs of our residents. Councilmember Goettl continues to advocate for the training, adequate funding and strong departmental leadership and accountability that will carry Maricopa to the next level of service, keeping us safe and prosperous.
