Taxes / Budget Just as important, I would seek ways to reduce property taxes, which not only help current homeowners, but would also lower mortgages for new homebuyers. In addition, recruiting big businesses would not only help with the tax base, but the businesses could also contribute by creating internships with our local high schools, which could potentially be a hiring stream for students that are not attending college and/or enhancing skills. I will actively seek out businesses that are willing to offer internships. Criminal Justice / Public Safety Cultivating District 2 is very important. I would like to create the safest environment by learning from our Douglas County Sheriff Department, Douglasville Police Department and Douglas County School Board officers regarding where we stand, what’s working and not working in Douglas County. As a community, we all would like to see our youth stay in school and reduce crime. Government Reform Furthermore, I would like to provide information to the citizens of District 2 on how to get involved and educate themselves on county services, educational programs and why Douglas County is a great place to live, work and play.
