Taxes / Budget Ada County needs strict, disciplined budgeting, not the loose spending culture that has taken hold. That is why I am proposing an annual Ada County Taxpayer Impact Report that shows residents exactly how each board decision affects their tax bill. I will also implement evidence-based budgeting and a set of tough financial reforms that rein in government growth, stop backdoor budget increases, and ensure every dollar is justified and accountable to the public. Infrastructure / Transportation I will ensure Ada County plans ahead so we invest in infrastructure at the right time and at the lowest cost. I'll evaluate impact fees, user fees, and cost of service models to ensure growth pays for growth. With long range planning, evidence-based budgeting, and self funded systems, we can prevent deficits and avoid shifting growth costs onto existing homeowners. This approach keeps Ada County growing responsibly, staying affordable, and remaining financially strong. Housing Ada County needs more homes people can afford, and that starts with removing unnecessary rules that slow projects and raise costs. I will simplify county processes, cut outdated requirements, and make permitting predictable so builders and homeowners can move forward quickly and affordably. Guns The First Amendment, the Second Amendment, and property rights are not abstract principles; they shape daily life in Idaho. I support the Second Amendment and will oppose any county policy that infringes on the rights of law-abiding citizens. Taxes / Budget Property tax levies are set by the Ada County Board of Commissioners. When spending rises, tax burdens follow. Keeping growth disciplined helps both homeowners and renters by limiting rising housing costs. Criminal Justice / Public Safety Our sheriff's office and emergency services staff need strong support to keep our community safe. That includes reliable equipment, modern technology, and competitive salaries that help attract and retain qualified personnel. Taxes / Budget I will also oppose regulatory and tax policies that place undue burdens on residents' ability to use and enjoy their property.
