Army to Small Town Roots: “After 23 years in the U.S. Army, I found my second calling in small-town community service and leadership here in Four Oaks.”
Past Experience
I’m originally from Oregon, but North Carolina has been home since I was first stationed here in 2010. After serving 23 years in the U.S. Army and retiring as a Sergeant First Class in 2015, I chose to make Four Oaks my permanent home.
For nearly eight years, I’ve been proud to raise my family here—I’m the father of three and a grandfather of one—and to stay actively involved in shaping our community’s future. I currently serve as Chairman of the Four Oaks Development Corporation, have served on the Downtown Design Committee, and am a member of the Planning Board. These roles have given me firsthand experience supporting local businesses, encouraging smart growth, and protecting the character of our town.
I’m running for Town Commissioner to bring that same sense of service and accountability to Town Hall, ensuring that every decision is made with fairness, transparency, and the voices of residents at the center.
My Top Issues
Balance development with neighborhood preservation
Four Oaks has great opportunity for revitalization, growth and preservation. But all need to work with each other. This includes to updating of town resources, utilities, and modernization of the library
Attracting and retaining businesses
Four Oaks needs a mixed bag of services, shops and restaurants. Let's make Four Oaks a place to enjoy our days, family evenings and shop locally.
Enhancing transparency and accountability
Transparency will build the public trust, encourage community involvement, and provide proof that it is a Town for the people by the people.
