Wages / Job Benefits As your Senator, I would stand against any bill that hurts the right to organize. I would fight tooth and nail against any so-called "Right to Work" legislation proposed. Ohio has said no to this before, and we'll say no again. Education We need to stop using taxpayer dollars to fund charter and private schools and use it to fund our public schools. Universal school vouchers for charter and private schools that aren’t held to the same standards are not helping our kids, they're hurting them. Let’s keep public money with public schools. Healthcare In Columbus, I would advocate for lower prescription drug costs, remove barriers to coverage, and expand Medicare and Medicaid, especially for our seniors. Drug Policy As your Senator, I pledge to tackle this epidemic head-on. We will hold pharmaceutical companies accountable, expand access to addiction treatment and mental health services, and invest in comprehensive harm reduction programs. Housing I will be committed to enacting policies that ensure housing is a human right. This includes increasing the appropriation of federal funding for affordable housing projects and providing robust support for first-time homebuyers. Infrastructure / Transportation We cannot have an economy of the future in Southeast Ohio without investment in high-speed broadband. Companies and consumers alike need the Internet, and we need to ensure that it's not only available but affordable. Building the lines necessary creates new jobs, and having increased internet access creates new jobs. It's common sense that we get this done. Education If we increase teacher pay, we can increase teacher retention rates, which will build culture and positive teacher-student relationships within our schools. Infrastructure / Transportation As your State Senator, I will fight to bring as much of that back to Southeast Ohio to improve our roads and bridges. We must make sure that routes like Routes 7, 13, 22, and 78, are ready for new industry.
