Economy By fostering a business-friendly environment, Surprise has added 275 new businesses, representing nearly 1 billion in investment in our city. These efforts ensure residents can find high-paying careers without leaving home. My focus remains on sustaining this momentum by supporting policies that attract innovative companies and help small businesses thrive. Taxes / Budget We have balanced the city budget every year I’ve served and returned surplus money to residents through tax cuts. This proves we can fully fund vital services like police and fire while cutting taxes, not raising them. My focus on fiscal responsibility prioritizes spending cuts over tax hikes, ensuring Surprise remains an affordable city for families. Infrastructure / Transportation Key intersections, such as Bell Road at Reems and Litchfield, have been streamlined for better safety and traffic flow. These critical investments, funded in part by general obligation bonds, demonstrate our commitment to a thriving community. I will continue fighting for smart transportation improvements that support our growing city. Education I am committed to fostering public-private partnerships between schools and local businesses to create internships and mentorships that empower students and strengthen our economy. We have also expanded family-friendly programs and youth activities, providing vibrant spaces for growth and development. My dedication to education ensures our students thrive, building a stronger, more engaged Surprise for generations to com. Criminal Justice / Public Safety By continuing to provide state-of-the-art equipment and training, we empower our first responders to keep Surprise safe. I am dedicated to sustaining these efforts and ensuring our community remains a secure place to live. Economy From my first day in office, I have championed the development of Surprise City Center to create a vibrant downtown that supports small businesses, entertainment, and our Spring Training baseball experience. The first phase is now complete, with three buildings that opened last summer. We have already welcomed more than 10 new restaurants to City Center, including Mission BBQ, Café Zupas, Better Buzz, Jet’s Pizza, and Osteria Mia. These additions provide local spots for residents and visitors to eat, shop, and gather, enhancing the stadium experience and boosting Spring Training attendance by 15% last season. Our Surprise Spring Training Facility was also ranked #1 in the entire United States by U.S. News. City Center is fueling small business growth, creating jobs, and building community pride. With future phases planned, including medical facilities, housing, and an expanded Ottawa University, I remain committed to driving this vision forward and making City Center the true heart of Surprise.
