Economy Strengthen laws and enforcement against monopolistic practices to improve market competition for both businesses, farmers, and consumers. Streamline permitting for small businesses, farmers, and contractors so they can operate more efficiently. Education Increase per-pupil funding for stronger classrooms. Wages / Job Benefits Pass laws that steadily increase the Federal minimum wages to levels that allow a single person or family to meet basic needs. Support small businesses during this transition. Healthcare Support a transition to Medicare option for all that assures fair, attractive compensation to medical professionals and support staff and reduces the institutional profit incentive in healthcare delivery and insurance that frustrates both patients and medical professionals. Infrastructure / Transportation Invest in infrastructure to apply Louisiana’s natural resources including the Mississippi River to for a vibrant growing economy in our rural, urban, and suburban communities. Healthcare Promptly reducing prescription drug prices apply government buying power and co-investment in medical innovation. Taxes / Budget Reverse the 2025 Tax Law changes that added 4,000 Billion of national debt over ten years with 60% of the cost going to big business, billionaires, and top 10% of households. Jamie will insist that tax laws are changed to provide the most benefits to working families not the wealthy. He is not fooled by the 100 Billion out of 4,000 (2%) that goes to No Tax on Tips or Overtime provisions. Environment / Energy Require utility regulators to be sure that the full costs of new industrial and data center energy needs are paid for by those developers and NOT passed on to other consumers and communities. Immigration We should enforce our borders and immigration laws consistent with the due process and Constitution. Strict enforcement can and should be consistent with respect for humanity and our history as a nation of immigrants and the productive role of immigrants in our economy. We need to update our immigration laws to provide both legal pathways and strong enforcement. Healthcare Maintain Affordable Healthcare access with subsidies at levels established in 2022-25 for the Health Insurance Marketplace Reverse provisions of the Trump/Republican OBBA that make Medicaid harder to access and reduce support to rural and urban hospitals. Wages / Job Benefits Raise teacher pay to competitive regional levels.
