Education He believes parents, not the government, should be the final decision-maker in their child’s education and that school choice further empowers parents to decide what is in the best interest of their child. He also believes we should do everything possible to ensure our schools are a safe learning environment. Education He believes that we should support public schools and specifically our educators, but also realizes a teacher’s success in the classroom goes hand in hand with the parent’s involvement. Infrastructure / Transportation As a legislator, James would fight to give our State the maximum flexibility to allocate federal funds to areas prioritized by the public. This is increasingly important to the areas of Wake Forest and Rolesville in District 35. Criminal Justice / Public Safety James believes in supporting our law enforcement as they play the critical role of keeping our communities safe. We should support law enforcement in carrying out their sworn duty to protect the public. Taxes / Budget As an advocate for keeping taxes  low, while meeting the obligations of the function of government.
