Criminal Justice / Public Safety I believe that policing for profit is immoral. Immigration I do NOT believe in ILLEGAL immigration and will ensure department deputies apprehend offenders in a safe and appropriate manner. Criminal Justice / Public Safety Believe that practices can be put into place to make our deputies PART OF THE COMMUNITY AGAIN. Deputies should be respected rather than feared. Respect is earned - the county's deputies should and will be present in communities, even when nothing is wrong. Deputies should be a familiar face; one that the residents knows they can count on. Taxes / Budget I believe that the department’s budget should be adhered to. A budget is put into place to ensure funds are used in a fiscally appropriate manner. We CAN keep to a budget while also improving the safety of our county. Government Reform I want a Citizens Advisory Board put in place to ensure that ALL members of the Sheriff's Department are behaving in the manner that always puts the needs and safety of our county first. Criminal Justice / Public Safety I will not persecute those exercising their Right to Free Speech. Criminal Justice / Public Safety In cases of extreme emergency, I WILL deputize appropriate citizens if requested by the individual AND necessary to the safety of our residents.
