Criminal Justice / Public Safety Equal rights, equal pay, and reproductive freedom don’t mean much if a woman isn’t physically safe at home and in her relationship. We must do more to protect women from violence and abuse. Legislation He’s proud to stand against any efforts to privatize Social Security, and he’s going to continue working hard to put Social Security on a path to long-term stability. Guns Inaction is unacceptable. Jim is proud to fight for common sense gun safety legislation, including implementing background checks, no fly no buy, an assault weapons ban, full funding for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, better mental health screening before gun purchases, and limited magazine sizes. Abortion / Contraception Jim knows a woman’s right to choose is paramount.
