Arts / Culture We need a central platform that makes it easy for residents and visitors to connect with our city’s cultural life. That’s why the Blueprint proposes a user-friendly, multilingual, City-supported website and app to list events, artist opportunities, and public programs. Designed with accessibility and inclusion in mind, this hub would also feature low-cost advertising space for local artists and small businesses, and could eventually become financially self-sustaining. Arts / Culture One bold idea is a partnership with the Jersey City Free Public Library to establish a dedicated arts education branch—modeled after The Hive in Spokane, Washington—that would offer workshops, exhibitions, and creative resources for all ages under one roof. Education Coordinate city libraries, recreation, and health providers with schools. Housing Lower rent increase limits to 3.5% or CPI (whichever is lower), and 2.5% for seniors. Legislation Limit Municipal Tax Levy to a 2% annual increase. Housing Build 1,000 affordable housing units and 500 senior housing units. Housing Support rent stabilization for new buildings, capping yearly increases at 9%. Housing Mandate 20% affordable housing in new developments, especially with tax abatements or PILOTs. Economy I am committed to reducing property taxes by eliminating duplicated services and seeking state support for education and development. Education Public dashboards showing school-by-school progress tied to accountability. Economy We'll develop programs that align workforce development with the needs of local industries and the evolving global economy, ensuring that Jersey City's workforce is prepared for the jobs of tomorrow. Education Tutoring, recreation, and summer programs to close learning gaps. Economy I will introduce initiatives that provide small businesses with access to grants, training, and resources, recognizing their vital role in the city's economy. Economy I aim to incorporate affordable housing strategies into economic development plans to prevent displacement and ensure that growth benefits a broad spectrum of the city's population. Education Timely, transparent IEP processes with parents fully involved. Education Intensive Pre-K–5 reading/math programs, phonics-based instruction, certified teachers in every core classroom. Economy I am committed to investing in infrastructure to stimulate economic growth, improve transportation, and enhance the overall quality of life in Jersey City. Arts / Culture We must increase performance, rehearsal, and exhibition spaces, especially in historically underserved neighborhoods.
