Jimmy Lossia

I'm not a politician. I got into this race because I'm fed up with the status-quo of politicians claiming they're going to govern for the people, but end up governing for the special interests that donate to the campaign and allowing financial contributions to sway or dictate their positions. I spent the last 20 years helping people in the community. At least half my income goes towards animal rescue and pet owners. I have been fighting large corporations for the better half of the last 20-years on behalf of people, and I've been doing this at no-cost. One of my positions is to prevent the slaughtering of deer in residential areas and parks/fields. I have a legitimate plan based on other successful case studies to manage the herd without killing them. I'm also partial to seniors in my community who are being taken advantage of by property management companies charging junk fees, price-fixing rental properties by using the RealPage algorithm app and then sharing of personal information without consent to unaffiliated property owners. I'm for incorporating a program that allows the police officers and residents to better know and understand each other to build community and rapport outside of the current police duties, by building the relationships it would help make the city safer when residents and police officers have a relationship outside of police duties. I want to implement more transparency in how the city's financials are used, which is currently incredibly difficult to track on the city's website. Another position is taking funds being allocated to programs that are not helping residents and putting those funds to work pragmatically, like increasing court clerk salaries which are severely underpaid, though they do the majority of the work. I do not believe we need to raise taxes. We can curb spending on unnecessary projects that only a small few benefit from, if any. Decades ago I made some incredibly regretful mistakes that devastated and caused harm to people closest to me. I've paid an enormous cost for the decisions I made in the past. I believe I had to go down that road to humbly find the person God intended me to be. I've learned and truly believe life isn't about how much money you make, how many things you own or collected, when my time comes, what is most important is how many lives have I been able to positively affect and help, because that's the only legacy that truly matters.
