Education Jocelyn believes nurses are professionals and strongly supports the Department of Education reexamining its definition of “professional degree” so student loan rules fairly reflect the critical work nurses and other professionals do; and so qualified students are not discouraged from entering the nursing profession, helping prevent workforce shortages in Nebraska’s health care system. Economy Jocelyn believes protecting Nebraska consumers is one of the Attorney General’s most important responsibilities. Jocelyn will make life more affordable for Nebraskans by ensuring the Attorney General’s Office remains a strong, independent watchdog for consumers. As federal enforcement shifts, it is more important than ever for state Attorneys General to step up and take on that role. Jocelyn will lead that effort for Nebraska by promoting fair competition and preventing monopolies and price gouging through strong, fair antitrust enforcement. Healthcare Jocelyn supports strong, responsible oversight of the health care industry, (including hospitals, insurance companies, and pharmaceuticals) to promote affordability and protect access to care for all Nebraskans. Immigration Jocelyn believes in strong border security, safe communities, and the Constitution. As Attorney General, she will work to ensure immigration enforcement in Nebraska complies with constitutional requirements and due process. Drug Policy As Attorney General, Jocelyn will fight to combat the opioid crisis that continues to plague Nebraska communities. Criminal Justice / Public Safety Jocelyn is committed to keeping Nebraska’s children safe; and will prioritize protections for children. As Attorney General, she will establish a task force focused on combating online crimes against children.
