Taxes / Budget Ensure County resources are distributed equitably and in alignment with community needs and priorities. Environment / Energy Better protect watershed lands to ensure a healthy and adequate water supply. Environment / Energy Recognize climate change as a crisis, and assess where we may need to create and implement emergency ordinances/actions. Wages / Job Benefits Collaborate closely with our cities and look for ways to address low wages, while also increasing our capacity for workforce housing. Environment / Energy Protect the integrity of the agricultural industry by enforcing our winery definition ordinance with special attention to the 75% rule. Environment / Energy Establish countywide water agency for coordination, cost savings and the implementation of best practices for businesses and residents. Housing Collaborate with commercial and residential developers, planners, and labor to use all available tools to mandate and/or incentivize the building of necessary housing. Environment / Energy Engage in strategic economic development including attraction of peripheral manufacturing to wine industry. Environment / Energy Create a Climate Action Plan that requires behaviors and practices that enable the County to meet state climate goals; thereby protecting our agricultural industry and our residents. Healthcare Create policies and practices that support our most vulnerable/marginalized and prioritize the health and development of children. Healthcare Assure the next County General Plan uses a “Health in all Policies” and “Equity” framework to advance individual and community health. Housing Create a countywide housing agency that represents the County and our 5 cities and towns, to look for ways to create needed housing that is city-centered and maximizes housing densities in urban areas. Criminal Justice / Public Safety Work with law enforcement and Health and Human Services to assure residents in crisis are receiving the services they require, under the safest conditions. Environment / Energy Enhance groundwater monitoring efforts and use monitoring data to determine new policy. Infrastructure / Transportation Promote and fund NVTA's Advancing Mobility 2045 Plan to build active transportation infrastructure and access for all residents. Immigration Create policies and practices that enhance access, especially for our immigrant communities, to public meetings and services.
