Infrastructure / Transportation You can not pave your way out of traffic. And contrary to years of ‘smart technology’ and traffic controls, I understand the pain and frustration of trying to navigate this city. I know that city, county, state and federal monies all coalesce to fund the myriad of roadway expansions…and there are a lot of fingers to point, but we will continue to get through it and provide some citizen input along the way. I think we can do better together. Taxes / Budget Every program that uses taxpayer money should be thoroughly vetted to eliminate waste and ensure effectiveness. If a program is important enough to fund, it should have clearly defined goals and metrics for success. Government Reform Transparency is an often-overused word. Frisco is transparent in reporting how money is allocated and spent. There is no issue or challenge based on audits or oversight for fear of fraud or misuse of the public purse. However, I would argue that accountability for spending and basic math are tenets that politicians abuse in double-speak and slight of hand. That type of fiscal accountability to taxpayers is essential to keeping faith with our public’s trust. Criminal Justice / Public Safety With world-class equipment, facilities and personnel, Frisco should be the envy of cities all over America based on our Fire and Police Departments. Maintaining preparedness in both departments, beyond tools and training, but to actually support these men and women so that they do not feel the need to collectively bargain is paramount to our future success. I pledge to make sure they never feel this way again and understand their lives and their families depend on us to make the right decision.
