Fun Fact

I have a heart for serving homeless Veterans, and believe that no town or county line should impede any efforts to collectively help someone. I also enjoy the outdoors. Our family routinely go to Boone in the fall to hike waterfalls and watch the foliage change. We also love kayaking in Carteret county.

Past Experience

I am a retired 21 year United States Marine. I am the Chief Executive Officer of Hope Mission of Coastal Carolina. I have worked in spaces with Veterans, homelessness, behavioral health, and education for the past decade. I have a degree in Emergency Management and am pursuing my doctorate in Health Science. I currently lead a growing faith based, non profit that works in over 15 counties. My wife and I have seven children, and one grandchild. Parents to a United States Marine, and deeply invovled with volunteering in the community. I've chaired the Carteret County Veterans Day Parade Committee, Veteran's Coalition of the Crystal Coast, Carteret County Reentry Council, and served on the Craven County Veterans Council, DAV, and American Legion.I currently sitting on the Board of Directors for CCATS, CCA, Tiller School, and the CCRC. I have also been endorsed by Senator Norman Sanderson, Senator Bob Brinson, and Representative Celeste Cairns.

My Top Issues

Invest in local businesses

Local businesses work symbiotically with the success of a town. It is imperative that town leadership ensures they have our ear and support.

Increasing affordable housing options

Housing is a significant issue in Carteret County. We have a lack of affordable housing for those who work in the county. And a County that depends on tourism for its livelihood should be able to support the workers with an option for permanent supportive housing.

Enhancing transparency and accountability

Accountability and transparency should be in the blood of each elected officials and local government employee. It builds communication and trust with the people who elect each representative.
