Infrastructure / Transportation We need more reliable bus service, especially in western Garfield County, so people can get to work, appointments, and school without it being a daily struggle. Traffic has gotten so out of hand that without public transit options, constant gridlock will make our commutes and town streets unbearable to drive. Environment / Energy Water is critical. For drinking, for our farms, our rivers, and our economy. We cannot allow the Front Range to pump the Colorado River dry just to fuel their unsustainable growth. Housing People shouldn’t have to drive an hour or more just to get to work. We need quality workforce housing, closer to where jobs are. If we don’t fix this, our kids won’t be able to live here. I’m interested in making sure this is still a place where regular people can afford to live, raise a family, and build a future. Economy The lack of a diversified economy and good-paying jobs in our communities has made us vulnerable. The County is burning through its cash reserves. We need to identify and grow new opportunities, so we’re not caught off guard like other energy communities have been.
