Economy We will invest in Central Avenue as a community-led cultural and economic corridor with local housing, retail, mercados, artist support, murals, festivals, and transit improvements. Growth here should reflect who we are, not erase it. Housing We will build affordable housing on city-owned land, launch community land trusts and resident co-ops, and support first-time buyers. We will cut red tape on ADUs so families can expand housing on existing lots, with grants and financing to make it real. Strong tenant protections will back it all up. Infrastructure / Transportation CD9 Groundworks will deploy 24-hour rapid response cleanup teams across five neighborhood zones, handling illegal dumping, graffiti, and blight in real time. We will add sidewalk repairs, improved lighting, neighborhood ambassadors, and monthly community cleanups. Every position will be locally hired. Economy We will expand small business incubators and community mercados, protect street vendors, train 1,000 new local entrepreneurs, and open pathways to capital through grants, loans, and seed funding. City contracts will prioritize businesses rooted here, keeping dollars circulating in our community. Environment / Energy We will modernize our three industrial corridors into engines of green manufacturing, clean energy, and advanced production, with workforce training tied directly to the jobs created. Companies that hire locally receive incentives. Vacant land becomes economic infrastructure. Environment / Energy We will transform the South LA Wetlands into a tech, media, and creative job training campus with a business accelerator, coworking space, childcare, a food court, farmers market, green jobs programming, and recreation spaces. Built for our community and owned by our community.
