Fun Fact
I have been a varsity basketball head coach for 10 years
Past Experience
I am entering my 19th year as a teacher. I have an M.Ed in Specian Education and another one in Educational Leadership. I taught in Stafford for 11 years. I know our community needs well and I know what students need in 2025.
My Top Issues
After school programs
In order to prepare our students for success after high school, we must invest in our public schools, specifically early literacy. After school activities should include options to engage every student in the school community
New sports facilities and programs
This should tie in with the after school activities. A solid partnership with parks and rec would benefit our students
Supporting initiatives against discrimination
No student should feel marginalized in our public schools
Education
We must stay laser-focused on student achievement. That means investing in early literacy, data-driven instruction which uses student performance data to inform and adjust teaching strategies to provide a more personalized learning experience for each student, and targeted support for students who are falling behind. We can’t let test scores or zip codes define our kids’ futures. Every student can succeed when we give them the right tools, and the right teachers, to get there.
Wages / Job Benefits
If we want to attract and retain top-tier teachers, we need to show them that Stafford County values their expertise. That means competitive compensation, mentoring for new teachers, and giving educators a real voice in curriculum and classroom decisions.
