Past Experience
Hi, I’m Josh Stapp - and I’m running for election to the Berkley City Council in November!
I’m not a career politician - I’m a neighbor who wants to ensure that our city government reflects the values we all share.
Berkley has always been more than just a place to live - for me, it’s where I’ve built friendships, supported local businesses, walked my dog through the neighborhood and felt proud to call home. I’m running for City Council to make sure Berkley remains a vibrant, welcoming, connected community for everyone.
With a background in the legal field, as an attorney I bring practical problem-solving skills, a commitment to ethical transparency, and a deep respect for civic engagement. During my time in Berkley, I’ve worked closely with neighbors, local organizations and city departments, and I understand how important it is to listen, collaborate and act.
Whether it’s creating safer walkable streets, maintaining strong infrastructure, or being a responsible steward of our city’s finances and budget - I’m ready to put in the work for Berkley’s future and provide a fresh perspective on the issues our City faces.
Let’s build a Berkley that works for everyone - Together!
My Top Issues
Community involvement in decision-making
When all voices are heard, better decisions are made.
Balance development with neighborhood preservation
Berkley must grow thoughtfully-preserving its character while meeting the needs of families, seniors, and young professionals. Diverse housing options protect affordability and inclusivity.
Participatory budgeting
Taxpayers deserve to know how every dollar is spent. Transparent budgeting encourages efficiency, reduces waste, and strengthens public trust.
