Housing Declare a local emergency to access state resources, including California National Guard support, to build resource centers and emergency housing. Environment / Energy Repair the seawall to prevent flooding and explore cost-effective maintenance solutions. Government Reform Record every meeting with developers, lobbyists, and special interest groups — no more backroom deals. Taxes / Budget Open the books to our citizens for public scrutiny and demand all past expenditures to be published. Infrastructure / Transportation Implement traffic calming measures — including speed bumps and lowered speed limits in residential neighborhoods and around schools. Economy Streamline business creation by reducing startup fees, accelerating application approvals, and expediting permits for new businesses and housing. Housing Offer comprehensive services and housing to all unhoused individuals, with compassionate hospitalization for those unable to care for themselves. Infrastructure / Transportation Install solar LED lighting on dark streets and intersections to improve visibility and reduce nighttime crashes. Criminal Justice / Public Safety Empower Neighborhood Watches by providing them training and direct coordination with police so residents can help identify dangerous drivers and problem locations. Infrastructure / Transportation Assemble a cross-department team focused on infrastructure, pothole repair, surveying, and quality-of-life improvements. This team will identify problems and fix them as we go, starting with the highest priority locations first. Criminal Justice / Public Safety Expand motor officers and dramatically increase targeted traffic enforcement in high-risk areas (only have 4 to 6 for LB, down from 30). Taxes / Budget Require every department to submit quarterly reports with receipts and detailed overtime expenditures, all uploaded to the city website for public review.
