Infrastructure / Transportation The condition of our infrastructure and roads have a direct impact on our county’s growth and prosperity, not to mention the high cost broken down roads can have in the forms of car repair bills and personal safety. Therefore, I am committed to prioritizing the improvement of our county’s infrastructure, to enhance the quality of life for all residents and support the growth of our local economy. Criminal Justice / Public Safety Public safety is a fundamental right and the number one responsibility of local government. I firmly believe that supporting public safety, police and effective crime prevention strategies are necessary to the well-being and safety of our community. To this end, I will work to ensure our county police have the resources and training necessary to respond effectively to crisis, and that our circuit attorney and judicial system have the support necessary to keep violent criminals off our streets. Taxes / Budget I am committed to the principles of fiscal responsibility, balanced budgeting and maintaining low tax rates, while ensuring the essential needs of South County residents are being met. Living within our means requires prioritizing essential community services and ensuring taxpayer money is spent effectively. It requires both careful budgeting and a forward looking approach to financial management.
