Fun Fact

I keep a Bible next to my city planner — because leading with integrity means staying grounded in something bigger than politics.

Past Experience

My “Why” Statement: Roy deserves a Mayor who protects our water, keeps our families safe, grows small-town opportunity, and does it all with transparency and grit. I’m running for re‑election to keep delivering on the basics that matter: reliable infrastructure, responsible budgets, public safety you can trust, and an economy that supports our local families and small businesses—without losing the character that makes Roy home. What I’ve Done as Mayor: Infrastructure first: Advanced planning and funding work for water and critical infrastructure so Roy can grow responsibly and safely. Public safety & emergency readiness: Drew on hands-on experience in emergency management and fire-event coordination to strengthen preparedness and communication. Fiscal responsibility: Kept a tight focus on lean, accountable government and practical investments. Community engagement: Open, accessible leadership—regular listening, clear communication, and respectful collaboration with residents, businesses, and regional partners. Economic development that fits Roy: Supported small, local entrepreneurship and pursued growth that respects Roy’s heritage. What I’ll Do Next: Finish the job on water & infrastructure so families and businesses can count on reliable service for decades. Keep public safety strong by supporting first responders and practical emergency management. Protect Roy’s rural identity while pursuing smart, sustainable economic growth. Stay transparent and accessible—you’ll always know what we’re doing, why we’re doing it, and how every dollar is spent. Endorsements: State Rep. Josh Penner (31st Legislative District; Mayor of Orting) “I enthusiastically support and endorse Mayor Ivy. I’ve come to learn that she has the grit, insight, integrity, and optimistic vision to lead a community in a way that respects its history and prepares it for the future. As a fellow small-town Mayor, I know that Mayor Ivy will keep doing a tremendous job when you re-elect her.” joshuapenner.houserepublicans.wa.gov joshuapenner.houserepublicans.wa.gov Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland (U.S. House, Washington’s 10th District). Marilyn Strickland Councilmember Amy Cruver (Pierce County Council, District 3). Pierce County Mayor Joe DePinto (City of Yelm). Re-Elect Mayor Joe DePinto State Rep. Andrew Barkis (Washington’s 2nd Legislative District).

My Top Issues

Invest in crime prevention

Public safety is the foundation of a strong community. I’m committed to supporting our first responders, improving emergency readiness, and ensuring every resident feels safe in their home, on their street, and in their daily life. Safe neighborhoods aren’t optional — they’re essential.

Investing in park maintenance and improvement

Our park shouldn’t be a forgotten, dilapidated space. Roy’s families and children deserve more — a park that’s safe, beautiful, and truly reflects the heart of our community. For too long, it’s been neglected. I believe in creating spaces that bring people together, where kids can play, families can gather, and pride in our city can grow. It’s time we invest in a park Roy can be proud of.

Water

Clean water isn’t a luxury — it’s a basic right. For far too long, Roy’s water infrastructure has been ignored because it’s “too complicated.” But that’s not a good enough excuse. Our families are already paying for clean water — they shouldn’t have to spend thousands more on filters just to make it safe. I see our water system not just as a project, but as a situation of urgency — one that impacts health, growth, and basic quality of life. I’ve worked hard to get this issue moving, and I will continue to fight for it until it’s fixed. This problem has been neglected for over 50 years. That ends now. Our community deserves better — and I won’t stop until we get it.
