I am an advocate for teacher pay increases and incentives that will motivate teachers not only to serve our students in New Hanover County; but to invest in education long-term.

However, the minority population is noticeably under-represented in the AIG program and Advanced Placement classes. I am an advocate of building those programs and discovering ways to attract highly qualified staff in those areas; purposely inviting underrepresented students into these programs and providing adequate support.
Education
I would like to see more academic support for our Exceptional Children (EC), Multi-Language Learners (MLL), Academically and Intellectually Gifted (AIG), and General Education students.
