Fun Fact
As a nurse, I've had the opportunity to meet and care for a diverse group of people from newborns to older adults. This has cultivated a unique perspective on the needs of individuals, including growth and development, ways of learning, emotional and physical well-being, and access to education. I think this will help me as a School Board member since there is more to education than just the curriculum.
In my spare time, I love to fish, golf, weekend getaways, cruises, and spending time with my family!
Past Experience
For nearly two decades, I’ve been in the heart of education- teaching, leading, innovating, and shaping policies and practices that have impacted students and our community. I’ve worked as a teacher in RCPS, served on committees/boards, participated in shared governance, and navigated the complexities of managing budgets, policies & procedures, resources, and programs.
I am a proud Rockingham County resident of 20 years, a former single mom who put herself through school to become a nurse, and someone who knows how to juggle life and leadership. I believe in smart spending, common-sense policies, and keeping our schools accountable to the RCPS community.
It’s time for a school board member that listens and leads! I commit to focus on our kids and their futures, our school employees who matter, and our parents who deserve transparency and trust.
Throughout my career, I have managed budgets, led teams, and overseen programs, giving me the skills to make informed, responsible decisions. I have served on local, state, and national committees and boards, gaining extensive experience in regulatory, accreditation, and educational matters. I am ready to bring my knowledge and leadership to the school board to ensure our schools remain strong, well-managed, and focused on student success.
