Abortion / Contraception As a pro-choice advocate, I believe in a woman’s right to make decisions about her own body. Our diverse society requires policies that respect individual choices and prioritize comprehensive healthcare. Environment / Energy Our climate is changing, and if we are truly serious about combatting climate change, we must use every tool in our tool box, and that includes safe, durable and reliable nuclear power, at least as a transitional power, until renewables are reliable and durable. As of now, this is not the case, and our policies in pursuit of clean-energy will create significant hardship for many. Criminal Justice / Public Safety Allow for the arrest, possible jail time and drug treatment court for those who shoplift less than 950. Infrastructure / Transportation We must invest in our water infrastructure, including water storage, conveyance, de-salinization plants and better forestry practices. Economy I am a pro-business candidate. California was recently declared the worst state in the country to own and run a business. We have over 395,000 regulations, more than double the national average, that are crushing our small businesses and driving key sectors out of state. As your Assemblymember, I will work to reduce unnecessary and onerous regulations and make California business-friendly again. Housing Ensure that policies passed at the state level allow each city or county the flexibility and space to plan for smart growth, not force compliance based on unrealistic, “one-size-fits-all” goals. Social Services Support the development of public-private partnerships to provide wrap-around services — addressing addiction, mental health, and public safety — and prioritizing assistance for veterans, families, disabled, and the elderly. Criminal Justice / Public Safety Revise the state’s excessively lenient early release policies, particularly where they pertain to violent offenders, to ensure dangerous felons serve the majority of their sentence. Education As your Assemblymember, I will pursue establishing Educational Savings Accounts (ESAs) where public funds will be deposited for each student, each year. Families can opt in to these accounts and use the funds to pay for — or offset — the cost of private or other educational programs. Their child, their choice. Environment / Energy Our climate is changing, and if we are truly serious about combatting climate change, we must use every tool in our tool box, and that includes safe, durable and reliable nuclear power, at least as a transitional power, until renewables are reliable and durable.
