About Me

Occupation

Engineer

Fun Fact

My wife Danielle and I have 4 daughters, all currently enrolled at Hansen Elementary. My day job is an Engineering Project Lead at John Deere responsible for the team of engineers designing new product cabs for large tractors and sprayers. My leisure time is primarily spent with my family, traveling, reading, church activities, running, attending/watching our kids' activities, and working on DIY projects.

Past Experience

After serving a full 4-year term, I am running for re-election to the Cedar Falls Board of Education. I can think of no better way to serve my community than to serve our school district in this way. I am a life-long learner, passionate about the furthering of education, and always looking for ways to learn, grow, and inspire as many students as I can to pursue their own education goals.

My Top Issues

Invest in local public education

As a board member, I am a fiduciary of the district and our community taxpayers. I take this role very seriously and balance tax burden with district needs.

Teacher Support & Recruitment

The quality of our education relies on teachers who are supported and protected as much as possible from unfunded mandates or undue burdens that are placed on them. It is my goal to keep the main thing the main thing and do our best to have a positive and engaging learning environment.

Parental Engagement

Schools need to be partners with the parents for their children's education, not just a daycare center that parents drop off and forget about. It is my goal to inspire and encourage parents to be involved and engaged in the education of their children.
