Strategic Planning: Experience in developing and implementing strategic plans that align resources with community needs, focusing on sustainable growth and long-term impact. Collaboration and Partnership Building: Expertise in fostering collaborations between public agencies, non-profits, and private entities to create opportunities that benefit the entire community. Program Development: Strong background in creating and expanding recreational programs, ensuring they are accessible, culturally relevant, and responsive to the needs of Division 5 residents. Advocacy and Public Policy: Adept at advocating for policies and initiatives that support community wellness, public access to green spaces, and recreational opportunities for all ages. Leadership and Governance: Demonstrated leadership in board governance, decision-making, and guiding non-profit organizations toward their mission-driven goals. Financial Oversight: Proficient in managing budgets, financial planning, and ensuring fiscal responsibility in the administration of recreational programs and facilities. During my tenure on the Desert Recreation Foundation (DRF), the non-profit arm supporting the Desert Recreation District, I focused on enhancing community access to high-quality recreational opportunities. I played a pivotal role in securing funding for various programs, helping to bridge the gap between public funding and community needs. My efforts included championing grants and partnerships that expanded access to recreational programming, particularly for youth, seniors, and underserved populations within Division 5. One of my key achievements was collaborating on initiatives that brought additional resources to our community centers, allowing us to offer more inclusive and diverse programs. I also helped drive fundraising efforts that enabled the maintenance and improvement of recreational facilities, ensuring they remained safe, welcoming, and accessible to all residents. My work on the DRF Board emphasized sustainable growth and the importance of leveraging private and public partnerships to support the District’s mission. These accomplishments reflect my ongoing commitment to enhancing community wellness and creating equitable recreational opportunities throughout Division 5. I was deeply involved in engaging with residents to understand their recreational needs and priorities, ensuring that our programs and facilities truly reflected the community’s interests. I contributed to strategic planning and policy development, focusing on expanding access to recreation, improving existing facilities, and addressing the unique needs of our Division. As part of the budget oversight process, I worked to ensure that funds were allocated effectively to support community programs, facility maintenance, and new initiatives that benefit Division 5. I also collaborated with local governments, community organizations, and stakeholders to leverage resources, secure funding, and foster partnerships that enhance recreational opportunities. My role included overseeing the development and evaluation of recreational programs, emphasizing inclusivity, sustainability, and community wellness. I was involved in managing the upkeep and expansion of community centers, parks, and recreational facilities to provide safe and accessible spaces for all residents. I also advocated for equitable access to recreation, particularly for underserved communities, and supported environmental initiatives that promote sustainability and green spaces, aligning with Prop 68 and other efforts to enrich community recreation. My experience reflects a strong commitment to fostering a vibrant, healthy, and engaged community through my work on the Board.
