Education As an educator in a rural Idaho high school for the past 16 years, I have a firsthand view of our strengths and weaknesses. We have great teachers and students. We need to continue to include parents and community members in the process of developing an educational process that provides multiple paths to produce career ready students. Some of our students graduate from high school and pursue higher education, some go on to additional vocational training, some join the military and others go directly into the work force. Our job as educators and legislators is to provide a path to success for all these different options, these students are the future of Idaho. As the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) State of Idaho High School Civics Teacher of the year for 2019-2020, I will continue to provide a direct link to what is happening in our schools to build a better path to success for our students. Government Reform Our Founders understood the idea of giving government certain tasks and responsibilities and created a system that would limit the power and reach of government. I believe in limited government. As a state representative, I will legislate in a way that will protect local control. Guns I support the right of the individual to keep and bear arms, as guaranteed by the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution and article one section eleven of the Idaho State Constitution and stand to protect that right at every opportunity. Abortion / Contraception I will protect the sanctity of life as a state legislator and I will do all I can to protect and nurture the family as the cornerstone of our great country.
