Top Issues

Housing In addition, we need new housing development that offers everything from executive housing to workforce housing to affordable housing. Let's streamline the process and not hinder development, but instead use smart growth strategies that works with neighbors and restores neighborhood pride. Housing Everyone should have access to affordable housing and quality rentals. Over two thirds (2/3's) of Menomonie's residents are renters and they need better representation. We can work with landlords and property management firms to impress upon them the importance of improving our rental properties, while working with them to incentivize improvements. Economy Downtown Menomonie is the backbone of our local economy and its vibrancy must be restored. Downtown Menomonie has seen better days and better days are ahead for Downtown Menomonie. We need to restore vibrancy, bring in new businesses, and restore our historic downtown to the beauty of our great city on the lake. We need to support our current business owners and attract new ones. That all starts on day one with a fresh, welcoming face of our community who truly wants the best for everyone. Infrastructure / Transportation Menomonie deserves quality roads, bridges, and safe drinking water. Over the past 16 years, Menomonie has seen multiple water boil advisory statements. Take a drive on most streets and you'll see they are crumbling, falling apart, and rough. We need a smart growth plan to replace and maintain roads. Economy Everyone deserves a job with a living wage and a government that is fiscally responsible. It's time to strategically invest in Menomonie to attract development that fits our culture and beats out cities like Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls. Menomonie deserves a fresh start and a new face to welcome developers who will bring in high paying, quality jobs that pay a living wage so that our citizens can thrive.
