Infrastructure / Transportation Let us increase our focus on safe infrastructure improvements for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers alike through protected bike lanes, additional sidewalks, and reimagining our streetscapes. Economy I will bring a focus on creating greater access to outdoor recreation, a strong commitment to public safety, expanding economic opportunity for our small businesses, and giving young people greater opportunity to stay and thrive in Knoxville. Infrastructure / Transportation Investing in more reliable, frequent, and safe public transportation will help relieve pressure on our streets and reduce traffic. Housing While the number one cause of homelessness is a lack of housing, we also need to invest in supportive housing solutions, harm-reduction strategies, and mental health treatment to further help those experiencing homelessness. Housing By cutting red tape to allow new types of housing, encouraging density along our corridors, and expanding protections for renters, the City Council can relieve the shortage of housing in Knoxville while meeting the varying needs of each neighborhood.
