Fun Fact
I enjoy partaking in creative endeavors. When I am not at work I am often playing music with friends or at a local venue supporting my favorite local bands. I also created a YouTube series titled Mo Money which generated 100 episodes of content about finance and economics geared towards Millennials and Gen Z. Other than I enjoy riding my Citibike around the city, visiting new parks, restaurants, and bars and seeing everything the city has to offer.
Past Experience
A lot of people laugh at me when I tell them that there is no city more libertarian than NYC. Sure are taxes may be high, our politicians all authoritarians, big government, etc but its not the government that makes it so libertarian its the people. Libertarianism in urban areas tends to exhibit itself more as a voluntary set of systems and groups that operate to achieve common goals based on shared sets of values, and they operate outside of the government`s purview. That is what my campaign is about, bring that Big City Libertarianism to the forefront and highlight the benefits and how observing the city`s issue through the lens of this philosophy can make the city better. In short, I am looking to build a more connected and proactive community. I am very active in service organizations in my district and I see active groups and individuals out there making a difference every day, but often they are disconnected from one another, even though they share similar missions. I want to work to connect people to make things happen by their own doing in their community, I want to know ways I can help the government get out of their way, so they can create the communities they want to be apart of and can be proud of.
My Top Issues
Increasing affordable housing options
My policy is position is ABOLISH ZONING. The 1961 Zoning Code of NYC is not a zoning code for 2025 NYC. It constrains supply and gives too much influence and power to NYC government to determine where new housing and construction can be done, who gets to live there, and what type of housing can be constructed. Abolish Zoning puts the power back in the hands of the people to make those decisions and demands.
Enhancing air and water quality
I believe in creating alternative forms of transportation that reduce the need to operate a car in the city both electric and gas powered. We need to reduce car and semi truck traffic, return to bringing in goods by the port, reopen a nuclear energy facility upstate, plant more trees, and green rooftops. This will improve NYC`s standard of living and quality of life.
Supporting entrepreneurship and small businesses
I plan on making it very easy and inexpensive to start a business in NYC. I dont mean just eliminate all permits and licenses and inspections, but I mean making the whole process quicker and easier to navigate. Every neighborhood deserves to have a flourishing area of small businesses, not boarded up storefronts.
