Economy I will work in partnership with community leaders, my colleagues on the Board of Supervisors, and West Sacramento City Council members to strengthen small businesses, expand workforce pathways, and connect residents to good-paying jobs. Improving access to healthcare, mental health services, and family support programs, while maintaining consistent community engagement and appointing community members to county boards and commissions, will ensure these communities have a stronger voice, greater opportunity, and a county partner committed to delivering results. Economy Bryte and Broderick are vital communities in our district that deserve focused investment, strong representation, and expanded access to opportunity. Ensuring these neighborhoods have the resources and support they need is essential to their long-term success. Housing We need a comprehensive approach to homelessness that builds a housing continuum of care and moves people off the streets into stable, permanent housing. That includes starting with respite and shelter, expanding access to affordable housing, and aligning wraparound services so individuals and families receive the support they need to rebuild their lives. Social Services Our community is facing a growing crisis of mental health and substance use that is impacting families, public safety, and overall well-being. This crisis is reflected in the number of individuals experiencing homelessness, often driven by untreated mental illness and substance use. Expanding access to care and improving outcomes must be a top priority. Criminal Justice / Public Safety We must also strengthen emergency preparedness so all communities are protected and resilient in the face of natural disasters and emergencies. Planning ahead, enhancing coordination, and addressing the root causes of crime through mental health care, substance use treatment, and prevention programs will reduce repeat crises and strengthen long-term public safety outcomes. Social Services I will work to improve alignment between county agencies, healthcare providers, and community organizations so individuals receive timely, effective services. Reducing barriers such as long travel distances through community-based care, expanding treatment capacity, and supporting Proposition 36 programs will help connect people to care, stabilize lives, and improve long-term health and safety outcomes. Criminal Justice / Public Safety Residents deserve to feel safe and know that when emergencies happen, sheriff’s deputies, firefighters, and emergency medical services will respond adequately and effectively. Ensuring first responders have the staffing, equipment, and training needed to protect our communities must remain a top priority, including maintaining timely response and system capacity when people need help most. Economy I am committed to preserving farmland and investing in farmers, farmworkers, and family farms. By protecting generational farming and local food systems, and ensuring growth decisions respect rural communities, we can maintain the balance between responsible development and farmland preservation while strengthening our agricultural economy. Housing We must increase the supply of housing at all income levels, including affordable and workforce housing, to meet the needs of residents. Partnering with cities to address the housing shortage by prioritizing infill development, reducing sprawl, and maximizing existing infrastructure is essential. Environment / Energy I will work to safeguard our water supply, advance sustainable water management, and promote responsible water conservation across our communities. By planning ahead, improving efficiency, and investing in long-term solutions, we can protect our water resources, support our agricultural economy, and ensure reliable access to clean water for residents, businesses, and future generations.
