Fun Fact
I organize a local Bingo event to raise funds for a Veterans Organization, where I hold membership. Additionally, I am an enthusiastic cyclist within my community. I engage in morning trivia games at the clubhouse to stimulate cognitive activity while enjoying coffee. Although I have participated in Karaoke once, I generally defer singing to my wife.
Past Experience
I am an Air Force and Air National Guard Veteran with forty years of experience in Engineering/Construction inspection and Quality Assurance. Additionally, I have thirty years of committee work experience, both as a member and chairman of various technical committees and am proficient in Roberts Rules and governmental procedures.
As a fellow of the American Concrete Institute International, which is a code-writing organization, I have contributed significantly to the field. I served as the president of my local civic association for six years while residing in New York. Furthermore, I was a contributing author to the 2008 New York City Building Inspection/Testing requirements.
This extensive experience equips me to immediately become an effective part of Groveland’s City governance and serve the people of district 4 efficiently from day one.
My Top Issues
Balance development with neighborhood preservation
We shouldn't grow our city just for the sake of growth. We live in a small city that we should cherish and avoid overbuilding. Our population has grown from 18 thousand in 2020 to about 25 thousand now. The city plan aims for an additional 15 thousand residents soon. I believe this is too rapid to maintain our quiet, wholesome lifestyle.
Promoting voter participation and education
As elected officials, we are your representatives entrusted with the responsibility to listen to your needs and vote accordingly. I will be committed to fulfilling this obligations with respect and diligence.
Implementing sound financial management practices to maintain balanced budgets
We collect 11 million in taxes but spend 31 million. This must change.
Infrastructure / Transportation
The City installed new curbs and sidewalks along RT 50 in the downtown area but failed to consider drainage requirements. Consequently, it is now necessary to remove and reinstall these installations. There was no Technical Oversight.
Housing
A housing ordinance could be implemented requiring all new developments to adhere to a "one home per acre" standard. This approach would reduce density and preserve the city's character, ensuring that our growth remains harmonious with the charm we hold dear. Sensible Growth.
