Display student art in municipal buildings, have a student chorus open a city council meeting. We are a small town…let’s draw upon our strengths, and our bonds as neighbors. Students need encouragement and attention from as many sources as possible. Let's show the children in our community we care and are paying attention to their wins and what brings them pride and a sense of accomplishment. Education Encourage the school board to involve officials from the city council (and other agencies and jurisdictions) in its strategic planning meetings. Infrastructure / Transportation Upgrading Road Infrastructure: Road repair isn’t just about filling potholes—it’s about building a future where our streets are sustainable & safe. My focus will be on repairing and maintaining roads on a timeline that serves our community while implementing traffic management solutions that reduce speeding and enhance overall safety for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians alike. Taxes / Budget Review city contracts and allocate city funds strategically to improve infrastructure, such as road repairs using sustainable materials, and invest in projects that benefit the community. Taxes / Budget Ensure that budget decisions are transparent and aligned with long-term goals for enhancing the quality of life in Ojai - this includes answering the call of city voters to ensure that initiatives passed are reflected in the city budget.
