Taxes / Budget Taxation and spending decisions are best managed at the local level, where citizens can exert more direct influence. As community members, it’s our duty to engage with representatives, sharing our perspectives on fiscal matters and emphasizing the personal impacts of tax increases. Taxes / Budget I advocate for reducing or eliminating the wheel tax, as county residents were assured it would be temporary. Education I believe in decentralized, individualized, and depoliticized education—prioritizing parental/family choice (i.e. Homeschooling), and real skill-building over conformity. I reject a broken, union-influenced, and ideologically captured public system that harms more than it helps. Reform is needed in many areas. However, I do believe our local school district has resisted these most of these negative trends and is holding ground. We need to support them. Taxes / Budget I believe excessive taxation hinders individuals’ ability to thrive personally and in business. If local taxes are essential, they should be kept to the minimum required for providing basic services to residents. Taxes / Budget Income taxes are theft, plain and simple; delete them entirely and let free markets cure issues like banking monopolies by slashing regulations on small players so real competition can flourish. Environment / Energy I personally do not believe that climate change is primarily caused by human activity. There are still many aspects of science that we haven’t fully understood, such as the effects and natural cycles of our sun, our planet, and our oceans. It’s premature to even label it as “change” when we’re basing our conclusions on the very short timeframe during which humans have had the wisdom and tools to observe or measure these phenomena. Taxes / Budget Local control of property taxes matters because it keeps power close to the people who pay them. When revenue stays at the county or city level, residents can directly see—and judge—what it funds: roads, schools, emergency services. This visibility creates real accountability; voters can remove officials who misuse funds without waiting for distant state or federal oversight. Taxes / Budget I oppose property taxes on retired seniors aged 67 and older.
