About Me

Business Owner

Why I am Running

Mike has been serving the last 4 years on the city council. Prior to that, he served 1 year on the Vilonia Planning Commission. He is the founder of Vilonia Funeral Home (now Cole Funeral Home) and Classic Mike’s Barbershop. Mike understands what it takes to work hard and accomplish his dreams in the face of opposition. He understands the challenges small business owners face and he believes the success to to any business is how you treat people. During his tenure on the city council, Mike identified budget inefficiencies, he has been a voice for the citizens on many issues, including when the crypto mine was proposing coming to town. Mike is a warrior for government transparency and efficiency and has consistently kept the constituents informed on critical issues facing the city. He believes that elected officials work for the people, and has been feet on the ground listening and trying to solve problems. Mike believes it’s time for a new path forward, and he believes his candidacy for Mayor of Vilonia is the clear path to accomplish what needs to be done to move Vilonia into the future. Vilonia is a great community, and the people who live here make it the greatest community in Central Arkansas. Mike is focused on three main issues that are paramount in moving Vilonia forward. 1. We must address our infrastructure problems (flooding, street repairs, sewer pump upgrades) 2. We must address inefficient spending and run the city like a business. (Cut unnecessary spending, increase revenues, re-evaluate our departments for inefficiency, review our contracts and purchase agreements for inefficiencies, and more) 3. We must restore the people’s faith in local government. (We do that by listening, being approachable, keeping the citizens informed, and doing what we say we are going to do) Before serving as an elected official, Mike served 4 terms as President of the Vilonia Lions Club, he served as board member of the Vilonia Chamber of Commerce, and Trustee of the Vilonia Cemetery Association.
