My Top Issues

Invest in mental health resources

One and four people live with a mental health issue. The residence deserve positive mental health outcomes, and resources to live a quality life. I will prioritize partnerships, establish partnerships with organizations, and our municipality to ensure people feel supported getting help. They need and know where the resources are.

Supporting entrepreneurship and small businesses

My S.P.A.R.K.S. approach ensures that small businesses and entrepreneurs have the resources, policies, and advocacy needed to thrive in Kentwood. Small businesses are the hub and lifeline of our economy. It is imperative to support small business! To strengthen the S.P.A.R.K.S. campaign’s commitment to supporting entrepreneurship and small businesses, we can expand on the Partnership (P) and Advocacy (A) pillars while integrating elements across the plan: Supporting Entrepreneurship & Small Businesses Through S.P.A.R.K.S. Who I'm Running Against

Stephen Kepley (Republican Party)

A very nice very religious 12 year incumbent he has a background as an electrical engineer with the city of Kentwood until he ran for Mayor he is a republican spends his money with Republicans and endorses Republicans even though he says he’s an independent. He does not like Democrats and will refuse to work with any elected officials works in a silo for the city of Kentwood does not collaborate very smart, but not very savvy when it comes to connecting with people long-term is known for not returning phone calls is known for getting too emotional and yelling at individuals Has done a good job running at kentwood but personally, I feel that we need to start collaborating now for resources to get things done. He will not ask for or request appropriations from the federal government or state because he says Kentwood is doing OK.
