I believe in expanding the RTD EcoPass to cover all residents and continue to improve routes and schedules - maintaining free fares for our youth is also important as it makes public transportation the easy and equitable choice. Infrastructure / Transportation Boulder has to prioritize transportation insfranstructure to build a safer, more connected and sustainable city. This includes continuing the long-term artery investments such as 28th St, 19th St, and Iris. Criminal Justice / Public Safety In addition, expanding support for Safe Zones for Kids and encouraging community involvement will help address the unique needs of specific neighborhoods, fostering a safer and more connected city for all residents. Criminal Justice / Public Safety It is essential to continue fully funding and supporting our police force and first responders, ensuring that Boulder has the best personnel in place to safeguard our residents and the millions of visitors who come each year. Housing Boulder must also work closely with neighboring cities and counties, since this is a regional challenge, while also balancing compassion with firm enforcement of laws, including the ban on encampments, to keep our community safe and accessible for all. Housing At the same time, it is critical to strictly enforce height restrictions to preserve views of the Foothills and to ensure no development encroaches on Boulder’s protected greenbelt. Housing We need to analyze Boulder’s current distribution of homes and prioritize our city’s most pressing needs, particularly the availability of housing for the “missing middle” (middle-income families). Housing Resources should prioritize Boulder County residents, ensuring shelters always have space and immediate help is available for those recently unhoused due to crises like domestic violence, eviction, or job loss. Housing We need to build in a smart and intentional way: review areas where rezoning could allow for duplexes, triplexes or smaller single-family homes. The city needs to collaborate more with developers and support projects that expand the supply smaller, family-friendly dwellings especially given that the current market heavily favors rental apartments and ultra-luxury homes. Arts / Culture We must actively support and promote our local institutions, artists, museums, galleries, and festivals, as they are the backbone of Boulder’s cultural vitality and a significant contributor to our growing economy. Arts / Culture We should welcome world- renowned events like the Sundance Festival and continue advocating for more cultural programming, positioning Boulder as an international hub for creativity and community celebration.
