Environment / Energy It is an undeniable fact that climate change is a serious threat to Michigan and the country as a whole. It not only jeopardizes the natural resources we all depend on – it also puts our infrastructure, health, economy and national security at risk. Ultimately, we don't inherit the environment from our parents, we borrow it from our children. That's why it's time that we invest in our future and demand the protection of our environment and resources be taken seriously. Wages / Job Benefits Michigan’s industrial base is what made this country great. We need to continue to support strong union jobs and lose our dependency on China. Healthcare There is absolutely no denying that every American should have access to quality healthcare no matter who they are or where they live. Medicare for all should be a fundamental right. We need to end the vicious cycle of being beholden to big Pharma and protect our health and the health of our loved ones from those that see dollar signs with doctor appointments. Education It begins with the teachers – without financially supporting our educators, we will never elevate our classrooms. Teachers shouldn’t have to work more than one job just to get by on their basic living needs or pay out of pocket for classroom necessities. It’s on our government to ensure we are giving teachers the respect and compensation they deserve. Abortion / Contraception As your next U.S senator, Nasser will call on his colleagues in the Democrat party to follow up with their promise to Codify Roe v Wade. He will fight to protect the right to choose, access to contraception, along with IVF and similar treatments. He will also push for a law to prevent insurance companies from denying coverage for birth control, as many people use them for reasons other than contraception. Foreign Policy America needs to end its dependency on conflict and stop funding endless wars overseas. Our government should be seen as a responsible nation and only engage when there’s a real threat to our own country’s safety and values. No more spending billions to fight a war that’s not ours or deploying our own men and women with no return date unless the safety and security of our communities is truly at risk.
