Environment / Energy Pete will work with residents, local organizations, and state and federal partners to protect our environment while ensuring Anne Arundel County remains a great place to live, work, and raise a family. Infrastructure / Transportation Pete will expand health care, senior center programs and transportation options to better connect aging residents with their communities. Education Pete will fight for the flexibility we need from Annapolis so that Anne Arundel can fulfill the goals of the state’s ambitious education plan in a targeted way that makes sense for our communities. Environment / Energy Pete will focus on practical solutions to reduce pollution, improve water quality, and strengthen community resilience. That includes expanding green infrastructure, investing in clean energy, and making sure our county is prepared for the impacts of flooding and severe weather. Criminal Justice / Public Safety Pete will make sure Anne Arundel’s first responders have the resources they need to keep communities safe. As a councilman, he helped provide police the best technology to help quickly address crime. As county executive, he will use his experience as a Marine to strengthen connections between law enforcement and neighborhoods, provide opportunities for youth and tackle neglected and blighted properties that undermine neighborhood stability. Taxes / Budget Pete will support investment in more senior living options, and make sure the burdens of property taxes don’t push residents from their homes. Economy Anne Arundel is a great place to raise families and grow businesses, but for many, the county’s excellence is slipping out of reach. Young families are often priced out of our market, so Pete will facilitate new and affordable housing options where they makes sense, while making sure the environment is protected and infrastructure keeps pace. Keeping Anne Arundel affordable and prosperous means growing jobs. Pete will empower economic development officials to embrace investment opportunities quickly, and to make sure the economic engines of Fort Meade, BWI and Arundel Mills meet their full potential, providing jobs and expanding our tax base.
