Drug Policy Drug use and addiction are significant drivers of crime in our county and must be addressed as part of any serious public safety strategy. Addiction is real, treatment matters, and recovery is possible, but it cannot be used as an excuse for violent crime or the victimization of others. Education I support investing in education in a way that is thoughtful, accountable, and focused on student success. That means supporting teachers and staff, maintaining safe and functional facilities, and asking whether funding decisions are producing real improvement in outcomes. We should support strong public schools while remaining open to thoughtful options that help meet the needs of students and parents. Criminal Justice / Public Safety Serious crime must be addressed seriously, with a focus on protecting victims, supporting law enforcement, and ensuring accountability within the justice system. Education Education is one of the most important investments a community makes. Strong schools help children succeed, support families, strengthen neighborhoods, and contribute to the long-term future of Cecil County. Economy I support expanding the tax base through thoughtful economic development rather than continually asking more from current residents and families. We should seek businesses and industries that create quality jobs, strengthen the local economy, and align with the county's long-term interests. Growth should support infrastructure, public services, and community quality of life, not outpace them. Taxes / Budget I support responsible budgeting, disciplined spending, and a serious review of how county funds are allocated. Supporting essential services does not mean writing blank checks. It means asking whether spending is tied to clear goals and measurable outcomes. Large surpluses and unnecessary spending growth should raise hard questions, because they can be signs that government is taking more from residents than it truly needs. Infrastructure / Transportation My focus is not on spending more, but on making sure resources reach the people, systems, and infrastructure that actually deliver results. Whether the issue is public safety, schools, or county operations, the key question should always be the same: will this decision measurably improve the services residents depend on? Criminal Justice / Public Safety Public safety is one of the most basic responsibilities of government. Families should feel safe in their homes, children should be safe in their schools and communities, and law enforcement should have the support and resources needed to do the job effectively. I strongly support law enforcement, first responders, and the public safety professionals who protect our communities. That support must include making sure resources, staffing, equipment, and facilities are directed where they will make the greatest difference.
