Education Proactive curriculum transparency and age-appropriate school resources. Education School choice and charter schools. Education Public schools returning to the core subjects of education: reading, writing, math, science, and civics. Economy Reducing unnecessary and overly burdensome rules and regulations on small mom-and-pop businesses. Infrastructure / Transportation Protecting local decisions related to land use and zoning including housing density. Criminal Justice / Public Safety Increased criminal penalties to include mandatory jail time for those involved in human trafficking, especially of minors. Criminal Justice / Public Safety Reinstatement of more severe criminal penalties for fentanyl and other serious drug possession. Housing Construction defects reform which would encourage affordable condominium and townhome development providing an opportunity for home ownership. Taxes / Budget Fighting efforts to take away your TABOR refunds. Guns The right to bear arms and any laws that restrict that right (as in cases of mental illness) must follow legal due process. Immigration Banning sanctuary cities for illegal immigrants in Colorado. Immigration Law enforcement in detaining and transferring illegal immigrants to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) who are in their custody for committing crimes. Wages / Job Benefits Requiring employers use of E-Verify or other method to check immigration status of current and new employees. Defense / Veterans Federal legislators in expanding veteran services, including a full function hospital in Colorado Springs. Defense / Veterans Reallocating resources from illegal immigrants to police officers and veterans. Defense / Veterans Discounting car registration and property taxes based on the level of a veteran’s disability.
